August 6 Kerala Covid Update: Kerala registers 1298 new cases and 800 negative cases

Kerala has registered a total of 1298 new Covid positive cases. The number of samples that turned negative stands at 800. With this, the total number of covid cases in Kerala has reached 30,429, while the state’s total active cases have reached 11,983. A total of 18,337 people have recovered from the disease. Amongst those who have turned positive today, 78 are from overseas, while 170 came from other states.

The state has registered 1017 cases through transmission in the past 24 hours. Out of those who caught the disease through transmission, the sources of 76 are yet to be traced down. Incidentally, the state has also recorded 3 more Covid death cases, taking the tally to 97.

The district wise breakup figure of positive cases is all follows,

Thiruvananthapuram – 219

Kozhikode – 174

Kasargode – 153

Palakkad – 136

Malappuram – 129

Alappuzha – 99

Thrissur – 74

Ernakulam – 73

Idukki – 58

Wayanad – 46

Kottayam – 40

Pathanamthitta – 33

Kannur – 33

Kollam – 31

Number of people who have turned negative

Ernakulam – 146

Thiruvananthapuram – 137

Malappuram – 114

Kasargode – 61

Kottayam – 54

Kollam – 49

Thrissur – 48

Pathanamthitta – 46

Palakkad – 41

Alappuzha – 30

Idukki – 20

Wayanad – 20

Kannur – 18

Kozhikode – 16

Right now, 1,48,039 people are under observation, out of which a total of 11,437 are in hospital. Today, a total of 1,390 people have been admitted to hospitals. During the last 24 hours, Kerala has tested a total of 25,205 samples. Till date, Kerala has tested a total of 9,08,355 samples. The results of 6,346 test results are yet to come. The state has a total of 511 hotspots right now.
