During the past 24 hours, a total of 62,538 fresh Covid cases were reported in India – marking a record single day spike in Covid cases. Also, the number of total Covid cases in India has crossed 20 lakh mark. With last day’s figure, India’s Covid tally stands 20,27,075 to its credit. On the other hand, India has also managed to add 49,769 cases of recovery during the past 24 hours. The country has registered 886 new deaths during the last 24 hours. With this, the pandemic has claimed a total of 41,585 lives from India so far. Ministry of Health informs that the active cases in India stands at 6,07,384, whereas a total of 13,78,106 got cured/discharged/migrated.
The recovery rate of the country stands at 67.98%, giving a strong positive note to the country’s fight against Covid 19. ICMR statistics show that the country has tested a 6,39,042 samples last day. With this, the total number of samples tested by India, has reached 2,27,88,393.
