Renowned author Vimala Menon (76) passed away at her residence at Kosalam in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday. She was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital city.
Vimala Menon was the recipient of several awards, including the Kerala state award for children’s literature in 1990.
She served as principal of the State Jawahar Balabhavan and BUDS, a school for differently-abled children. Her noted works include Panchathantram, Olochottam, Mannamkattayum Kariyilayum, Pirannal Sammanam, Disney Kathakal and others.
