Actor Jayasurya has been summoned in the case of construction of a boat jetty and a wall by encroaching backwater land in Ernakulam. Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court sent summons to the actor and three officials.
Last month, the Vigilance filed the charge sheet against actor Jayasurya for the encroachment of a fringe of backwater at Chilavannur in Kochi. The charge sheet has been framed against Jayasurya and three former Kochi Municipal Corporation officials.
The accused, including the actor, have been given a notice asking them to appear in court on the 29th of next month. The other accused are three officials of the Corporation’s engineering department.
The accused officials are R Ramachandran Nair, who was the Corporation Building Inspector, Girija Devi, who was the assistant engineer, and NM Joseph facilitated the unauthorised construction of the boat jetty and compound wall on the backwater bank violating the Coastal Regulation Zone Act and Municipal Building Rules.
