Sithara is one of the favorite singers of Malayalees. She is also a singer who has sung a handful of favorite songs of Malayalees. But for the past few days, they have been undergoing body shaming on social media. A lot of bad comments are coming down on each of the pictures posted by Sithara.
Now Sithara herself has come out directly against this. Sithara shared this message with the audience while sharing a video on Instagram. Below are pictures of her wearing a sari and putting on make-up. However, Sithara says in the video that if I post a photo in plain clothes without make-up, the comments will be derogatory words like ‘Bengali woman’, ‘beggar’ and ‘transgender’.

Sithara asks how Bengali women, transgender people and beggars can be ridiculed. Sithara reminds us that these are not words of ridicule. In his professional life he has to wear a sari and put on make-up, which is all part of his job. But none of this can be put into personal life. Sithara reminds us that there can be healthy conversations but that it should not be abusive to others.
