In a big crackdown, police foiled attempts to inflow drugs from cities to villages by nabbing three youths with MDMA. The District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) and Enathu Police have strategically trapped the accused. The suspects were caught in the surveillance carried out by the Dansaf team for several days based on a message sent by the district police chief following intelligence that drug trafficking gangs were lurking in the countryside.
Vishnu V (21), son of Mohanavilasam Vikraman of Kadambanad, who was seen in a suspicious situation on Enath Kairalimukku Ganesavilasam road in Atteppad area on Tuesday morning, was first caught by the Dansaf team.
After questioning him, 390 grams of MDMA was found in the test. He confessed to the crime during detailed interrogation by the police. Two others were caught in the subsequent move based on Vishnu’s confession.
The other accused Vishnu (23) was arrested from Malanada Thoppil Colony in Kadambanadu. 1.710 grams of MDMA was recovered from his purse.
Following the information received after interrogating both of them, Ananthu (22), son of Sasidharan, a native of Kadambanad, who was living on rent in the Lakshmi Niwas house of Maharshikav Ramachandran, was taken into custody. 1.490 grams of MDMA was seized from the accused.
