BMW is preparing to launch i3S for the Indian markets. An electric car, i3S was displayed during the Auto Expo 2018, and garnered much interest. Essentially a performance oriented version of the regular i3, the electric version of the car is capable of clocking 100 kmph in 6.9 seconds. On a single charge, BMW i3S will offer smooth ride for 280 km. The top speed offered by i3S is 160 kmph.
Powered by a 33 kWh Li – Ion battery, the engine of BMW i3S generates 181 bhp, while the peak torque figure stands at 270Nm. Though it is not known about the exact plans of BMW regarding i3S, it is expected that the model might soon make its presence felt in the country, once there are adequate infrastructure support available.
