The makers of Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan Part 1’ unveiled the second single titled Chola Chola from the film. The music is composed by Oscar-winner AR Rahman and written by Ilango Krishnan.
The song Chola Chola is dedicated to Chiyaan Vikram’s character Aditya Karikalan and talks about his love interest Nandini aka Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
The song is crooned by Ravi Basrur and Nakul Abhyankar. Sharing the lyrical song on Twitter, the makers wrote, “This is our battle cry! #CholaChola single from #PS1 OUT NOW.”
The historical drama will feature celebrated actors in powerful roles, such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as ‘Nandini’, Superstar Vikram as ‘Aditya Karikalan’, Karthi as ‘Vanthiyathevan’, Trisha as ‘Kundavai’, and Jayam Ravi as ‘Arunmozhi Varman’. Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Lal, Kishore, Ashwin Kakumanu, Sobhita Dhulipala and Aishwarya Lekshmi will be seen in important roles.
The film, the first part of which is set to hit screens on September 30 this year, will release in five languages – Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
