Clash during song festival at Vengad Higher Secondary School, Koothuparam. Complaint that the locals beat up the students of the school. The incident took place last evening during the song festival organized as part of the annual celebration program of the school. Three injured students sought treatment.
The students alleged that they were beaten up by a group of locals for dancing in front of the stage during the song mela. After the locals questioned the students, an altercation broke out between the two groups. Plus two students say that they were beaten up by a group of locals. Footage of a student being surrounded and beaten by locals has also emerged.
Meanwhile, the police responded that no case has been registered as no complaint has been received in the incident. But the school principal said that the matter related to the incident has been reported to the police and a complaint has been filed.
