Wayanad : A nine year old girl died of snakebite on Wednesday. Shehla Sherin, a class five student of Sarvajana HSS in sultan bathery was bitten by a snake in the classroom.
According to the school management, Shehla was sitting close to the wall and was bitten by a snake. The class room was reportedly in a bad condition with holes in the ground and many insects lurking the place.
She was rushed to a private hospital and then to the Government Taluk Hospital. Meanwhile, a teacher was suspended following the allegation that he didnt heed to the concerns of the student , even after Shehla’s told him that she was bitten by a snake
