Malayalees will not forget dr Vandana. Now here is the clinic in the name of Vandana Das. Vandana’s parents KG Mohan Das and T Vasantakumari are building the clinic. Vandana’s wish to build a clinic for the common people in Trikunnapuzha is coming true. Vandana’s mother Vasantakumari said that since childhood, Vandana wanted to go from her own home in Kadthurthi to her mother’s home in Thrikunnapuzha. Vandana also wanted to provide free service at least two days a week. Attempts are being made to inaugurate the clinic in Singha month. The construction of the building is about 70 percent complete. The clinic is being constructed by renovating the existing building. Procedures including registration and licensing of the clinic are to be completed.
On May 10, 2023, the accused Dr. Sandeep was brought to Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital for medical examination. Vandana was stabbed to death. The High Court had rejected the argument of the accused Sandeep that in the case of killing Dr Vandana, there is no charge of murder against him.
The defendant’s argument was that the attack was done in a sudden fit of anger and therefore the charge of murder cannot stand. However, the court held that the sudden provocation did not last for a long time and rejected the release plea of the accused, judging that prima facie the crime against the accused is still present. The order is by Justice A Badaruddin.
The High Court was approached against the Kollam Additional Sessions Court’s rejection of the petition filed with the same demand. The petition was dismissed after examining the case diary in detail.
