Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a video conference with state chief ministers tomorrow. Earlier, the Chief Minister had held a video conference with top officials including the Collector.
District Collectors, District Police Chiefs and District Medical Officers participated in the video conference. It was during this discussion that Kovid-19 tests were proposed.
As of last week, the state conducts about 500 inspections a day. It has the facility to conduct 4000 tests per day. The ICMR is designed to use a randomized test kit. Though not granted permission, it has been suggested to conduct further tests using existing systems.
That is, hotspots should be maximized using the current inspection facility. It has also been directed to check on those who have more public contact than those who are not symptomatic. Kerala had prepared a guideline on the facilities to be prepared for the return of expatriates. As part of this, collectors have been directed to find more places to live in the districts.
