Chepauk MLA J Anbazhagan succumbed to death today morning. The DMK MLA, who has been suffering from Covid 19, was on ventilator in Dr Rela Institute and Medical Center at Chromepet. For the past 8 days, he had been suffering from acute respiratory issues. As was informed by the medical bulletin released by the hospital last day, he was running on 90% oxygen on ventilator.
Apart from the oxygen requirement, it was also informed that his cardiac function too got deteriorated. Two years ago, J Anbazhakan had undergone liver transplantation. With this, the country also marked its first case of the death of an elected leader due to Covid. J Anbazhakan was considered to be one of the close allies of DMK head Karunanidhi. Meanwhile, the number of Covid cases in Tamil Nadu is witnessing an exponential rise.
