Minister EP Jayarajan has maintained that the situation in Kannur is quite serious. It is on the light of an increase in the number of covid cases through transmission, that the minister asked people to stay high alert in Kannur. He also maintained that a special investigation would be conducted on the case of the death of the young excise officer in Kannur, whose trace is yet to be found. Also, the contact list of the excise officer is also quite vast that the authorities are trying to map his contact.
With the young officer succumbing to death within 5 days of testing positive, it is now taken as a special case by the medical team in Kannur. However the minister made it clear that there is no community transmission in Kannur.
