Meteorological experts have opined that cyclone Nisarga has had an impact on the Monsoon rains in Kerala. As a result, it is now predicted that Kerala wouldn’t be facing unprecedented rainfall. According to the experts, Nisarga has absorbed the warmth and steam of the Arabian sea, and diverted the rain towards the Gujarat coast. Dr. M Rajeevan, the Secretary of the Ministry of Earth Sciences opined that it is usual that the cyclone formed during the early days of monsoon, would interrupt the rains.
Observers comment that by the 10th of this month, another low pressure area is expected to get formed in the Bay of Bengal. If it gets strengthened, it would result in Kerala getting higher rainfall. Although conditions are favorable in the Arabian Sea, Western Coast is not expected to receive the benefits, as they are all adjacent to the Oman coast. Into the state, the weather conditions in the southern districts are expected to be mild to moderate during these days. However, Northern parts of the state are expected to get better rainfall.
