Alleging that the officials of the Motor Vehicle Department are doing harm despite the favorable order to run the service
Robin bus owner K. Kishore High Court.
The owner of Robin Bus, K., pointed out that the service cannot be run due to the continuous inspection and seizure of the vehicle by the Motor Vehicle Department. Kishore petitioned the court.
The High Court has directed the secretary of the transport department to file an affidavit on the contempt petition filed. The petition is being heard by the bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh. The plea will be heard again on January 22.

The motor vehicle department had fined several times the Robin bus operating from Pathanamthitta to Coimbatore. The bus was impounded after the fine was not paid.
The motor vehicle department authorities took action pointing out that it is illegal to run a Robin bus with a contract carriage license as a stage carriage.

At the same time, the central government informed the High Court that under the All India Tourist Vehicle (Permit) Rules, contract carriage permits are issued to tourist vehicles.
The KSRTC pointed out that certain provisions of the All India Tourist Vehicles (Permit) Rules, 2023, which allow tourist permit vehicles to operate services and pick up passengers, including on nationalized routes, are inconsistent with the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. Central Road Transport Under Secretary Sushil Kumar Jeeva informed through counter affidavit in the petition filed.
