Director and script writer Sachy (Sachithanandan) has passed away. He was admitted to a private hospital in Thrissur following a heart attack which caused damage to his brain and was in ventilator for the last two days. Sachy died at the age of 48.
He directed the films Ayyappanum Koshiyum and Anarkali. She wrote twelve screenplays, including Rameela and her driving license. In 2007, he made his debut as a screenwriter in Shafi’s Chocolate. I quit my legal career and came to the film. He was an active presence in the theater.
Sachy’s return is long before it has risen to the mainstream of Malayalam cinema through countless films. Sachy came to the cinema by giving up her lawyer work. He started as a scriptwriter with Sethu in the movie Chocolate. Directed by Anarkali, Ayyappanum Koshiyum. Both were huge commercial successes. He has written the screenplay for 12 films. In the meantime, the ‘Chettayees’ were being made with friends.
Notable films include Run Baby Run, Ramaleela, Seniors, Makeup Man and Driving License. He was active in the theater and film society of Cranganore. The actor also excelled in dramas. his last films Ayyappanum Koshiyum & Driving license were a huge success.
After obtaining degree in law from Ernakulam Law College, he practiced as a criminal lawyer for eight years in the High Court. Shafi directed Chocolate in 2007. The writing was in conjunction with Seth. Following the success of the film, Prithviraj wrote the screenplay for the Joshi movie Robinhood. With Shafiq, Man of Makeup and Seniors with Vaishak, commercial cinema followed the hit screenwriters.
But after the ‘Doubles’ loss Sachy and Sethu parted ways. The film was followed by Sachy’s journey. Sachi became the author of big hits without any fuss. It started with Joshi Mohanlal’s movie Run Baby Run. In 2015, Sachy made his directorial debut. Anarkali Kalanem, who joined the cast of Prithviraj Biju Menon, discussed the box office success.

In the same year, Shafiq co-authored the comedy film ‘Sherlock Toms’. After two years Sachy has come with ‘Driving license’ which was a huge success. Sachy directed his second movie Ayyappanum Koshiyum.
