Alappuzha: Minister P Prasad has expressed full support for the struggle against Nooranad land grabbing. The minister said that the taking of soil by digging hills is not acceptable and is with the protestors.

The minister gave the assurance when he reached the Mallapally hill. When Minister P Prasad arrived, there were emotional scenes in front of the Mattapally hill.

An old man grabbed the minister’s leg and cried, asking him not to let them down. Seeing this, the minister’s eyes were filled with tears.

P Prasad said that after today’s all-party meeting, it will be decided whether the government will join the petition along with the locals in the High Court. An all-party meeting will be held today under the leadership of Minister P Prasad.

Matapally hill is a great emotion of the people of this land. This is not an emotional problem, it is a vital problem of the people. The police action against the protest is not right, the minister said.

The chief minister and others have been charged. The government will take seriously any concerns raised by the people.

Will consider going to court. P Prasad said that the government will take a decision only considering reasonable matters.

If there is any lapse on the part of Geology Department, it will be checked. Action will also be taken to convince the court of the environmental impact.

It is better to look for other alternative methods of soil extraction. The minister also said that the allegation of land mafia’s involvement in land grabbing will be investigated.
