A man has been arrested in connection with the death of former Miss Kerala Ansi Kabir, runner-up Anjana and her friend Mohammad Aashiq. Abdul Rahman, who was with them, was arrested. Police confirmed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. He was driving despite being banned by his friends. A case of involuntary manslaughter has been registered against Abdul Rahman, a native of Thrissur.
The accident took place on the morning of November 1 near Vyttila Chakkaraparam. There were four people in the car. Ansi and Anjana were pronounced dead at the scene. Aashiq, who was injured in the accident, died last night. Aashiq was undergoing treatment for a serious head injury.
The four were traveling from Vytala to Edappally. The car was speeding at the time of the accident. The vehicle lost control and crashed into a tree when it was cut to avoid being hit by a bike traveling in the same direction.
