Going in line with the industry reports, Dulquer Salmaan starrer Kurup will hit big screens on May 28th. Though the makers haven’t come up with any official statement regarding the same, the date is been widely speculated inside the industry. According to the reports, Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘Wayfarer Films’ will distribute the film in Kerala. The overseas right of Kurup was sold to ‘Phars Films’ for a record amount of INR 3.6 Cr.
Earlier this year, several sources suggested that, this Srinath Rajendran starrer has been offered a skyrocket amount of INR 22 Cr by Netflix (for all language versions), considering the pan Indian appeal of DQ. However, with theatres being opened, makers of Kurup decided going for a theatrical release. Dealing with the life of the notorious criminal ‘Sukumara Kurup’, this Dulquer starrer also features Indrajith, Sunny Wayne, Sobhita Dhulipala and to name the rest in other important roles, while Tovino Thomas will be there with an extended cameo appearance. With more and more movies announcing their theatrical releases, the coming months are surely going to be a feast for all the movie lovers in Kerala.
