DYFI protests against toll collection at Kollam bypass

Kollam: DYFI protests against toll collection at Kollam bypass. DYFI activists protested at the toll gate just before the toll collection started on Tuesday morning. Activists say toll collection will not be allowed. The DYFI wants toll collection not to start until the road is at least six lanes. Police officials including Kollam ACP are present at the spot.

Earlier, protests against toll collection were high. The district administration had intervened and postponed the toll collection following local protests during the assembly elections. The company officials had informed the collector through a WhatsApp message yesterday that the toll collection would start from today.

Kollam Bypass Toll Rate is given below:

Vehicle, One way fare, Return fare within one day, Monthly fare (50 travel) and Industrial vehicle franchise registered in Kollam district.

Car, Jeep, Van, LMV: Rs.25, Rs.35, Rs.805, Rs.10.

LCV-LGV, minibus: 40, 60, 1300, 20.

Bus and truck (2 axles): 80, 125, 2725, 40.

Industrial vehicles (3 axles): 90. 135, 2970, 45.

Heavy construction machinery – earth-moving machines (MAV4-6 axle): 130, 190, 4275, 65.

Vehicles with seven or more axles: 155, 235, 5200, 80.
