Kochi: The police took over the body of a toddler who was killed by her mother and her boyfriend in Kochi.
The body was kept in the morgue for 14 days and was cremated by the police and the municipal corporation after no one claimed it.
A one and a half month old baby boy was killed by his mother and her partner in Elamakara, Kochi.
After the post-mortem, no one came to collect the baby’s body.
For fourteen days, this baby’s body was frozen and sitting in the morgue.
The father had written to the police that he would not accept the body. Mother’s relatives also turned away.
After two weeks, no one came to collect the dead body.
After that, the authorities prepared to bury the body.
Finally, the police decided to cremate the body in the presence of the corporation.
Meanwhile, the child’s mother, accused in the murder case, remains in jail.
