One person died in a massive fire at a chemical factory in Maharashtra’s Nashik on Sunday. A woman died. 14 people were injured. 14 injured people were taken to nearby hospitals. Four of them are in critical condition.
A fire broke out in a factory located in Mundegaon village of Gatpuri in Nashik district around 11 am on Sunday. The fire broke out after a boiler in the factory exploded.
The fire brigade and disaster management team reached the spot. The actual cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. The blast from the factory was so loud that it was heard even in the nearby villages.
A typical factory employs around 25 people. Since it was New Year’s Day and a Sunday, most of the staff were not present. Moreover, since it is a factory with automatic machines, there are not many employees here.
