In line with Mozilla’s acquisition of ‘Pocket’ last year, the latest version of its web browser, ‘Firefox 60’ has started showing occasional sponsored stories in the pocket’s recommendations section. Informing the same through a blog post, Mozilla has also issued a proper privacy and quality standards. It is also informed that there would not be attempts of collecting the personal data of users.
Acknowledging the need for advertising, Mozilla however has in turn, offered giving personalized and high quality user experience. That said, there is also an option for users to dismiss the ads, if they do not want a particular sponsored story appearing. Apart from the sponsored stories, Mozilla Firefox 60 has also brought ‘Stylo’ – a new Quantum CSS engine, View Page Source option and to name the rest.
