Indian Railways trains, for first time in the history, has achieved 100 percent accuracy in terms of running on time. The Railways Department announced that a total of 201 trains ran on July 1st, without making any delay in the timing. It was in a statement issued by the Indian Railways that the record has been marked.
The previous record set by the Railways was on June 23rd, when every other train, except one, ran on time. Back then, Indian Railways clocked an accuracy of 99.54%. Now, with the June 1st figure, Indian Railways has achieved an unassailable feat with 100% accuracy on June 1st.
In the wake of the nationwide lockdown, only special trains are currently in operation. Though the nation has entered ‘Unlock 2.0’ phase, Indian Railways will not start operating in the normal manner this month. In fact, the central government has issued a notice, which has cancelled all the regular mail, express and passenger services and suburban trains be canceled until August 12.
