The seventh session of the 15th Kerala Assembly began on Monday. The panel of chairpersons who will maintain order in the Assembly in the absence of the speaker and deputy speaker has been announced.
The all-female panel comprises CK Asha, U Prathibha and RMP MLA KK Rema. The panel has two members from the ruling side and one MLA from the opposition.
This is the first time the panel is consisting of all women.
New Assembly speaker AN Shamseer proposed inclusion of female members in the panel. Members of the panel will govern the house in the absence of the speaker and deputy speaker.
