As the gold smuggling case is trebling the state, today witnessed yet another massive gold smuggling incident being caught by the officials. Officials have managed to catch smuggled gold 2.7 Kg in two different incidents from Kannur – Thiruvananthapuram Airports. While from Thiruvananthapuram Airport, three passengers were caught for carrying gold around 1.45 Kg. All of them are from Tamil Nadu. They have tried to smuggle the gold by hiding it on waist band and undergarments.
On the other hand, 1.25 Kg of gold was caught from Kannur Airport and seven people are arrested by the authorities. While six people are Kozhikode natives, one is from Kasargode. During the checking, they were found to be hiding gold in the Jeans waist band.
