Gold smuggling through Diplomatic Baggage: UAE Embassy announced investigation

UAE Embassy has announces investigation on the case of gold smuggling at gold through the diplomatic baggage, at Thiruvananthapuram Airport. While announcing the investigation, the UAE Embassy said that the incident had given a bad image to the embassy. Terming it as a very serious crime, the UAE embassy said that it would cooperate with the Indian investigation team in order to find the actual culprits involved in this crime.Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, while responding to the news, said that the CM’s office had nothing to do with the gold smuggling mafia. While commenting on the controversial woman, the CM said that she had no direct contact with the government. According to the CM, the lady was merely awarded a contract assignment for the marketing of a project, under the IT department. CM also said that a probe is being carried out by central agencies. On the other hand, the IT Secretary M Sivasankar has been removed from the post of Chief minister’s secretary following the allegations that he had links to the controversial woman, Swapna Suresh. Later this evening, M Sivasankar also went into a long leave from service.
