Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran informed that Guruvayur temple will be closed and no devotees would be allowed to enter from tomorrow onwards. The decision was taken by Guruvayur Temple Administration, which was later approved by the state government. It is considering the rising case of coronavirus in Thrissur district, which the authorities have taken this decision.
However, authorities informed that the marriages, which were planned for conductance tomorrow, could proceed. Though devotees wouldn’t be allowed to enter, the daily proceedings would take places, as was done, before lifting the lockdown norms in the temple earlier this week.
