The High Court granted interim anticipatory bail to director Omar Lulu in the case of rape of the actress. Omar Lulu informed the High Court that his relationship with the actress was consensual. The plea was adjourned to June 6 for detailed argument. A case was filed against the director on the complaint of the young actress that Omar Lulu raped her several times after promising her a chance in the film. The young actress, who has settled permanently in Kochi, approached the police with a complaint against director Omar Lulu. The complaint states that she was molested at two hotels in Nedumbassery. The complainant had also acted in Omar Lulu’s previous film.
Omar Lulu had earlier stated that he had a close friendship with the actress. He has traveled to various places with the young woman. But Omar Lalu said that after he left the friendship, he became personally enmity towards him and he suspects that this is behind the complaint. He has no contact with the woman for six months. The complaint came just before starting the new movie. The director also says that there is a doubt that there is a blackmailing group behind the complainant.
Omar Lulu is making his directorial debut with Happy Wedding. Chunks was Omar’s second film. Omar Lulu’s film Oru Adar Love was much appreciated. Omar’s movie Good Time was the subject of huge controversies earlier.
