The remains of one of the two women brutally murdered in a suspected case of human sacrifice were found in a shallow grace in Elanthoor on Tuesday afternoon.
The remains of Padma were exhumed from the residence of Bhagavant Singh, a local massage therapist, and his wife, Laila, on Tuesday. The DNA samples will verify the identity of the remains.
Padma and Rosly were allegedly murdered by a couple from Elanthoor for ‘economic prosperity’.
Padma, a lottery seller went absconding on October 26 and the next day her relatives informed the police. An investigation by the Kadavanthra police found that the mobile tower location of Padma was last found to be in Thiruvalla. Later, during the investigation conducted by the police at Thiruvalla, it was confirmed that Padma was killed and her body was buried.
