Today, the biggest topic of discussion in Kerala is the incident of actor Asif Ali being publicly insulted by Sangeet Ramesh Narayanan. The incident took place during the trailer launch of the anthology film based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s nine stories. Ramesh Narayan composed the music for the Asif Ali-starrer. The entire crew of this film was honored but the organizers forgot to honor only Ramesh Narayanan. He brought this resentment to the attention of Ashwathi Nair, who directed the said part. Aswathi is also the daughter of MT Vasudevan. Then the organizers invited Asif Ali to give him the award.
But he kept Asif Ali aside so that he did not want the award from Asif Ali. Then the director called Jayarajan and received the award from him. Many people have now come forward criticizing Ramesh Narayanan in this incident. Meanwhile, director Jayaraj is now clarifying his position on this matter.
I have never noticed a video like this going viral. But during the launch of this movie, the crew of the movie was honored by everyone. But Ramesh Narayan was not called to the stage. He was just as worried about it as we were. We have informed the organizers about this matter. It was then that Asif Ali was invited to hand over the gift to him. After taking it from Asif Ali, Ramesh Narayan called me and took the gift from me again. Maybe it was to express gratitude to the director of the film. He never seemed to insult Asif Ali.
