In a chat show with Kamal Haasan, Shruti Haasan talks about why she became a 'goth girl'. People who like more black, wear black clothes, use dark make-up, love gothic literature and love contemporary horror cinematography are generally referred to as 'goths'. When Kamal Haasan asked why Shruti was like that, Shruti replied that it was because of you. 'Because you didn't bring me up like a girl. Little did anyone know, my father always encouraged me to play in the mud and listen to rock music. I got used to the beard and tattoos while doing the movie Marudanayakam by watching my father. So all this is the father's fault.'
'Besides, you always wore black clothes at home. So I learned that black is a cool outfit. At that time I was not brought up like a girl'- said Shruti. Still don't ask me why I am wearing black color and rest of it Shruti says.
