The Governor said that he has no problem with Kannur and the rest of the country should also grow up by taking Kannur as an example in this regard. He also clarified that there is no personal objection to Kannur. He said that he was just expressing his sympathy for some past situations.

DYFI-SFI activists took to the streets and protested by holding demonstrations and protest meetings. Governor Arif Muhammad Khan’s effigy was also burnt in the new year.
