Singh, one of India’s greatest spinners, has always been involved in philanthropic activities for a long time.
Singh was conferred the Padma Shri, India’s fourth highest civilian honour, in 2009. He retired from all cricket in December 2021. In March 2022, he was nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the Aam Aadmi Party as one of their five candidates from the state of Punjab.
