“I was eight months pregnant then. I had an opening in the Kottayam side. We had a yellow cent car at the time. We used to call it Mor Kachiya Vandi. It was rainy season. We had to come back via Kumarakam side. When he reached a place, he was unable to see anything. As if one could not distinguish between the road and the river.
We were unable to move back and forth. We were afraid and started praying. His leg was placed on the seat. No cars were coming that way. He told Madhu to race the car well and take it forward. After some time water started entering inside the car. Water came up to the seat. It was a state of not understanding anything.
I prayed a lot. Finally after some time a lorry came from nowhere. I don't remember anything. Water got inside the car. Unable to understand the road and the river. The carriage no longer moves. Later we escaped in that lorry. The car was broken that day. It was rectified later” – says Bina Antony.
