The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has warned that the country might witness a massive spread of Covid cases in the coming months. While addressing the media, ICMR officials maintained that as of now, Covid case are concentrated on the slums in big cities. According to the statistical reports, ICMR even predicted that the pandemic might affect as much as 30 percent of the country’s population.
However, the ‘Zero Survey’ conducted by ICMR, maintained that community spread hasn’t begun in India yet. Adding that nationwide lockdown was a monumental feat, which has drastically reduced the number of Covid cases in the country, ICMR suggested that more such measures might have to be taken across the country in order to contain the disease.
