Director and screenwriter Sudhir Mishra is the Chairman of the State Film Awards Committee. Director Priyanandan and chayagraha Azhakapan are the primary jury presidents while Lijo Jose Pellissery and writer NS Madhavan are also the jury members. The screening of the state film awards was held in two phases. 160 films competed. After the first phase, it was reduced to 50. Films screened at the last International Film Festival have also been considered in this year’s competition, while the challenge to Mammootty at the national level is actor Rishabh Shetty. Meanwhile, if Mammootty wins the National Award for Best Actor, he will have the honor of winning four National Awards for Best Actor along with Amitabh Bachchan.
