Kooli is Rajinikanth's latest film to be released. The film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The official announcement of the movie came out recently. Anirudh is composing the songs of the film. But the BGM in it became controversial in a big way.
A part from an old Ilayaraja song was used during the promo song. The phrase “disco disco” from the famous song was also used in this teaser. Ilayaraja, the music director of this original song, came against this. Ilayaraja has alleged that his song has been reused in this teaser without his permission. Ilayaraja alleges that the makers of Kooli have violated copyright laws.
Now Rajinikanth himself has come directly with a public response on this issue. Rajinikanth has responded that this is a matter between the producers of the film and him and he has nothing to comment on this and the producers of the film will look into the matter.
On the other hand, Kooli is the film directed by Logesh Kanagaraj after the film Leo. But it has already been said that this movie does not belong to LCU Universal which includes movies like Leo, Vikram and Kaiti. The teaser of the film has received a very good response but the audience says that the old excitement is missing.
