Shwetha Menon and Kukku Parameshwaram resigned from the internal complaints committee of A.M.M.A (Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes) for inaction against accused actor Vijay Babu.
The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) was formed by AMMA last month, in which actress Shwetha Menon acts as presiding officer of the committee. Earlier, on Monday, actress Maala Parvathi also tendered her resignation from the internal complaints committee, pointing the same issue.
The ICC demanded the removal of Vijay Babu from the executive council. Following this, Vijay Babu backed out from the executive council, but continues to remain as member in AMMA.
Maala Parvathi told the reporters that it was difficult for her to accept the press release by AMMA. She stated, “the message given by AMMA to society doesn’t seem right. ICC is an autonomous body. It’s not under the executive committee. It is difficult to accept the press release by AMMA as a member of ICC”.
