India has increased its military presence in Ladakh following the increase in Chinese troops. India has deployed more troops near the Indian Army post near the strategic Daulat Beg Oldi Bridge. This is the last military post in Karakoram Pass. The move was aimed at defending the Chinese military from entering India’s soil.
News of the Indian Army’s reinforcement on the Chinese border comes just days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and Joint Chief of Staff General Bipin Rawat. Thousands of Indian and Chinese soldiers are standing face to face in the area. “We will not allow any changes to the standards that are currently under control,” military sources said. China’s goal is to dominate the region. China is trying to prevent the construction of the Darbuk-Shaikh-Daulat Beg Old Road which India is building here. China does not intend to complete India’s military-sponsored road projects, sources said.
Indian troops estimate that China may have deployed 5,000 troops in Ladakh. Things are going on in Ladakh in a similar situation to the Doklam conflict. At the same time, reports have emerged that Chinese President Xi Jinping has called on the military to prepare for war amid rising border disputes with India. Shi Jin Ping directed the Chinese People’s Liberation Army to look into the worst case scenario and defend the sovereignty of the country. At the same time, he did not mention any potential threats. Xi Jinping called on the military to look into the worst of crises and increase training and warfare accordingly. He called for the immediate and effective handling of all sorts of complex situations and the determination of national sovereignty, security and development interests.
