All set to revamp the way department is been looked upon by the public, the Indian Railway is gearing up to making its stations equipped with Wi – Fi. The reports suggested that Indian Railway will be equipping all of its 8,500 railway stations the facility of Wi – Fi. The project, which is expected to cost $110M (INR 700 Cr), is part of the government’s ambitious Digital India initiative.
Right now, Indian Railway has got some 216 Wi – Fi stations under its belt, catering to the needs of over seven million passengers on a daily note. Though we don’t have access to the plans of govt. it is been reported that govt. aims to complete the procedure by March 2019.
