Veteran actor Indrans raised the issue of ignoring the film ‘Home’ as the 52nd Kerala State Film Awards. His statements came after several netizens criticised the jury panel on social media for not acknowledging the performance of Indrans in ‘Home’.
There were also allegations that the film was ignored as it was produced by Vijay Babu, an accused in the sexual assualt case.
Indrans said that it was unfair to punish everyone just because one person involved in the film had erred. “Should an entire family be punished just because one member committed a mistake,” he asked. Vijay Babu had produced the movie ‘Home’, under the Friday Film House banner.
Indrans asserted that he was not disheartened in his name not being considered for the award. But ‘Home’ could be at least recognised along with ‘Hridayam’, which was selected as the best film with popular appeal and aesthetic value. Indrans condemned the jury for not considering the performance of actor Manju Pillai, who played one of the lead roles in ‘Home’.
