Vinayan is a director known as the lone soldier in Malayalam cinema. He is also a director who has faced a lot of setbacks from the film due to not following the restrictions of the superstars. Vinayan was growing up to be an independent director, though film organizations decided to ban him several times.
FEFCA had approached the Supreme Court against the lifting of the existing ban on director Vinayan. In this case, the verdict is in Vinayan’s favor. A bench headed by Justice Rohinton Nariman found that all the facts of the case were in favor of the director.
FEFCA Directors’ Union Rs.85,594 / -, Amma Rs.3,86,354 / – and Production Executive Union Rs. 56, 661 / – and a fine of Rs. In addition to the FEFCA organization, the FEFCA Directors’ Union and the FEFCA Production Executive have approached the Supreme Court.
In March 2017, the Competition Authority of India issued an order lifting Vinayan’s ban. Following this, Amma and Fefka Inne were fined large sums by the organizations.
It was after this that the organizations approached the Supreme Court. However, the court was told that the court had limited authority to intervene as this was an issue between independent organizations. However, the court said that the verdict was in favor of Vinayan because all the facts were in favor of the director.
Following the court ruling, the organizations will have to pay all the fines previously fixed by the Competition Authority of India. With this, Vinayan has the opportunity to make films in Malayalam cinema. The director will no longer have any obstacle to cast the leading actors in the film.
