Johnny Anthony is well known to Malayalis. He has done few films and small roles. Apart from CID Musa, he also directed films like Kochi Raja, Thurap Gulan, Inspector Garud, Cycle, Ee Patanil Bhootham, Masters, Tapana, Bhaiya Bhaiya, Thopil Joppan. He has acted in many films like Joe and Joe, Neymar, Janaki Jaane, Corona Dhawan, Maharani etc. Now Johnny Antony is talking openly about his personal life and films. He was speaking in a special interview given to Club FM. The first time he teamed up with Mammootty was through Thurap Gulan. The shooting of the film will begin on January 25, 2006. My youngest daughter was born that morning. On hearing that, Mammooka said, ‘She must have come with luck’. As said, she came with luck.
At the same time, there is no rush to direct a film. He is enjoying acting and moving forward. I wish it to continue till now and I pray that the situation will be ready for it. Can we do the system anytime. Hope the second part of CID Musa will come anyway. Basil Joseph is a good person. Sounds like a sibling we wish we had. There is a charm. Terribly naive, as well as very intelligent. He also says that Basil Joseph is a person who understands the situation in which he grew up, who does not bother even a single person and works very precisely.
Mammooka is a role model for everyone. I feel that Mammootty is someone that a filmmaker should always keep in mind. Pulli’s disciplined life, his passion for cinema, his quest to find difference and his willingness to give a chance to newcomers are exemplary. An actor with such unbridled passion for cinema is rarely seen in Indian cinema. When you see your stomach is getting bigger, you will be told to reduce it. While smoking, he said, ‘Johnny.. can’t you be forty.. stop smoking’. Don’t rush too many pictures. It is said that you have to look and see to choose a movie. All in all, I love Mammooka.
