Kochi: Actor and BJP leader Suresh Gopi approached the High Court in the case of touching the body of a journalist without permission. The High Court was approached seeking anticipatory bail.
Petition filed. It is explained that the anticipatory bail petition was filed in the context of serious charges against Suresh Gopi in the case.
The incident, which was complained of, took place while he was talking to the media in Kozhikode. Suresh Gopi grabbed the journalist’s body while asking further questions related to contesting the Lok Sabha elections.

When he repeated this even after leaving, the journalist slapped his hand away. This caused a lot of criticism against Suresh Gopi.
Later, the journalist lodged a complaint against Suresh Gopi. The police filed a case under Section 354A on a complaint that Suresh Gopi had touched him with bad intentions.
Suresh Gopi approached the court in the context of including IPC section 354 in the charge sheet. The petition also states that this section was not included when he was called for questioning. The vacation bench of the High Court will consider the petition today.
