Today, Kerala has registered 416 new Covid positive cases. This also happened to be the biggest daily positive figure that the state has marked till date, with the figure crossing the 400 mark for the first time. The number of samples that turned negative stands at 112. With this, the total number of covid cases in Kerala has reached 6,949, while the state’s total active cases have reached 3,199. A total of 3,822 people have recovered from the disease. Amongst those who have turned positive today, 123 are from overseas, while 51 came from other states. However, in an alarming note, the positive cases through transmission have ticked a record figure till date – 204.

Right now, 1,84,112 people are under observation, with the number of institutional quarantine standing at 3,517. Today, Kerala has tested a total of 11,693 samples. The state has tested a total of 2,76,878 routine samples till date. The results of 4,528 tests are yet to come. As part of sentinel surveillance, the state has tested 70,112 samples, out of which 66,132 have turned negative. Today, a total of 472 people have been admitted to hospitals. Kerala, right now, has a total of 193 hotspots.
