Today, Kerala has registered 449 new Covid positive cases. The number of samples that turned negative stands at 162. With this, the total number of covid cases in Kerala has reached 8,319, while the state’s total active cases have reached 4,030. A total of 4,259 people have recovered from the disease. Amongst those who have turned positive today, 140 are from overseas, while 64 came from other states.
The number of case through transmission, unlike the previous days, has registered a figure below 200. In the past 24 hours, the state has clocked 144 positive cases through transmission. Out of those cases, the source of 18, is yet to be traced down. 5 health workers, 10 DSC, 1 BSF, 77 ITBP, 4 Fire Force, 3 KSC personals have been tested positive for the disease. The state has also recorded 2 more Covid deaths. Kollam native Thyagarajan (74) and Kannur native Aisha (64) have succumbed to death, and were tested positive for Covid.

Right now, 1,80,594 people are under observation, with the number of institutional quarantine standing at 4,376. Today, Kerala has tested a total of 12,230 samples. With this, the total number of routine samples tested by the state, stands at 2,44,388. The results of 5,407 test results are yet to come. Today, a total of 713 people have been admitted to hospitals. Kerala, right now, has a total of 223 hotspots.
