July 16: India registered 32,695 new positive cases and 606 new deaths

During the past 24 hours, a total of 32,695 fresh cases were reported in India. This is the first time that the country has witnessed a daily positive case figure of over 30,000. The country has also registered 606 new deaths during the last 24 hours. With this, the pandemic has claimed a total of 24,915 lives from India so far. Till date, at total of 9,68,876 cases have been reported in India. Ministry of Health informs that the active cases in India stands at 3,31,146, whereas a total of 5,12,815 got cured/discharged/migrated.

Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Delhi continue to lead India’s Corona chart. However, for the past some days Delhi has consistently been showing less number of positive cases. ICMR statistics show that India has tested a total of 1,27,39,490 samples till day, with country testing a 3,26,826 samples last day. The rate at which new cases are being added to India’s tally is quite alarming, however, the rate of recovery gives some positive figure. Last day, as was released by the Ministry of Health, the recovery rate in the country has crossed 63%.
