Kerala registered a total of 1038 new Covid positive cases. This is the first time that the state has registered a daily figure of more than 1,000. On the other hand, the number of samples that turned negative stands at 272. With this, the total number of covid cases in Kerala has reached 15,032, while the state’s total active cases have reached 8,818. A total of 6,164 people have recovered from the disease. Amongst those who have turned positive today, 87 are from overseas, while 109 came from other states.
The state has registered 785 cases through transmission in the past 24 hours – the highest figure till date. Out of those who caught the disease through transmission, the sources of 57 are yet to be traced down. The state has also recorded 1 more Covid death case, taking the tally to 48. Idukki native Narayanan (87) has succumbed to death, and has found infected with the disease.

Right now, 1,59,777 people are under observation, with the number of institutional quarantine standing at 8,818. The total number of routine samples tested by the state, stands at 3,18,644. Out from the routine samples, the results of 8,320 test results are yet to come. Today, a total of 1164 people have been admitted to hospitals. The state has a total of 397 hotspots right now.
